What You Get: Power Drive Speed+ 2 PD with 1 PD and 1 PIQ car charger (cable not included), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month It killed my charging port on the Pixel XL the first time I used it. The phone was charging when I received the new charger and cord on the mail (both from Anker and rated for Pixel). I plugged it to test the new charger and it did not work. But then I was unable to get my phone to charge on any charger. After a couple of hours testing multiple chargers, rebooting the phone and making calls I had to drive it in to the Pixel repair shop. Under inspection they told me my charging port was fried and had to be replaced. At the repair shop they warned me against using non-Google chargers and usb-c cords for the Pixel. To be clear, the phone was working just before plugging into the new charger and my phone charging port then needed to be replaced after one use. Let me first address the reason a Pixel owner would buy this: rapid charging. I have a Pixel 3. This adapter does trigger the “rapid charging” indicator. However, I would say it doesn’t quite reach the speed of the Pixel 3 wall charger. It is still a worthwhile investment if you want faster charging in the car. You must use the USB-C port when charging the phone. I would absolutely buy it again if I needed another PD charger for my PIxel phone.I did hesitate though…The post that this adapter destroys your Pixel phone was concerning for me (might have been a few of them). I used it for about a month, watched and felt my phone after using it, to see if my phone was being fried by this adapter before I left this review. For me, there have been a couple times where it felt warm but it was infrequent. I am pleased to report that my Pixel 3 is still fully functional and I notice no problems. It is awful that someone’s phone was fried. I don’t know what happened, maybe it was some electrical issue with the car or maybe a defective adapter. All I can do is say I have had no problems and I am fully satisfied with this adapter.Oh… I use the USB-A part of the adapter for a Bluetooth receiver and it works fine.**UPDATE 5/8/2019** I’ve been using this on my Pixel 3 since January. I haven’t experienced any problems.**UPDATE 9/2/2019** Used it all through the Arizona summer. No problems. It’s still working great! I wish all my products were already USB-C with power delivery, it is the future and anker seems to be leading the industry with their chargers, with this being no exception. It chargers fast my iPhone X on the car, so a 15 minute drive adds up to about 30-40% battery. Its amazing, it actually charges the iPhone running a GPS app faster than the charger that comes in a box chargers a locked phone, thats nuts.I do recommend it and bought 2 of them already, just so I don’t have to change from car to car.PS – IMPORTANT: You need the original iPhone cable sold by Apple. No other USB-C cable will fast charge the iPhone, at least until September 2018 Purchased due to lighting deal discount, and wasn’t sure it would be compatible with my Google Pixel 3xl for Rapid Charging. Using an Anchor c-to-c 2.0 cable (powerline+), IT WORKED!!! I’ve only used it twice, but both times my phone rapid charged without interruption. It did not rapid charge using the Anchor USB 3.0-to-c cable – but it didn’t show the “slowly charging” message, either.I have not tested this with any other device – I specifically purchased this to charge my pixel 3xl while traveling.Have not left it plugged into the charging port while the vehicle is turned off, so not sure if it will drain car battery. I haven’t noticed any lights/charging indicators while using it (during the day) so not sure if leaving it plugged in would be an issue.Update 10/2019There is a blue ring that lights up when plugged into the charging port. In my vehicle, this light turns off when the car is off. I still don’t leave the adapter plugged in over night, but I suspect it does not continue to draw off the car’s battery.I do notice my phone will get a little warm, but I have not had any issues with overheating or damage to the charging port on my phone. I take the phone’s case off if I intend to leave it plugged into the adapter for more than just a few minutes, but that’s mostly because I have a cheap-quality case. I do have an Anker USB C-to-C cable, I don’t know if this has contributed to my success with using this charger. I am seriously considering buying another Anker adapter/cable, because my spouse constantly takes mine out of my vehicle and I hate being without it. Still 5 stars. UPDATE: Anker support proactively reached out to me based on my original review and replaced both failed units. I’ve been using them now for a couple of weeks without issue and have increased the rating from two to four stars. If they continue to work over time I’ll come back and raise it to five stars, because these are great units (when they work).I bought these for our two cars to charge our two Pixel 2 XLs. Initially they worked great and fast-charged via the USB-C outlet. After about six weeks mine simply stopped charging via the USB-C outlet, although the standard USB port continues to charge (but not ‘fast’ charge). We’re both using Anker-branded cables as well. We’re big Anker fans, but these chargers appear to not be ready for prime time. The first unit I received appeared to fast charge just fine; however, the blue light ring flashed instead of remaining solid. I contacted Anker support about it and they promptly sent me a replacement. The new one worked fine, with the blue light ring remaining solid. I did a time test of charging speed. The device charged my iPhone X from 7% to 76% in exactly one hour. Not bad, considering I was using my phone somewhat during that time and the vehicle I was in was not running. I did use the Apple USB-C to lightning cable as suggested. (Note that I have never heard the “double ding” others claim. This hasn’t hampered the charging ability of this device.)7_ These included a projector-like module that could display a 70-inch picture of your screen onto any surface or wall, a 360-degree camera.
